Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Sustainability: Beyond Words

It's March, and in a few weeks we will have reached the end of the first quarter of 2025. At the Association of Asset Management Professionals (AMP), our commitment to supporting the certification journey of professionals in the sector is not only still standing, but we are constantly working to provide new ways to continue contributing to the asset management community around the world.

Through our Certifications, Badges, Mastery Belts and Black Belt program, we have created a whole learning pathway that helps professionals stay on top and achieve their most ambitious goals. As we approach the end of the first quarter of this year, it's a good time to check the expiry date of your Certified Reliability Leader® certificate (remember that it expires after three years), or to consider how you want to move forward. Take a look here at everything we can do for your career.

Another way in which we support the international Asset Management community is through our sponsorship of various conferences that address topics of interest to our industry and that offer new perspectives for improving both business and professional performance. One of these is the Nebraska Women in Tech Summit, an event that celebrates the achievements of women in the technology field, with projection and impact on the future of technology. We are delighted to announce that we are sponsoring and supporting this event, where Women in Reliability and Asset Management (WIRAM) will also be taking its inspiring message with the presence of our Global Leader, Maura Abad. WIRAM, under the umbrella of AMP, focuses on highlighting and elevating the role of women within Asset Management, values that resonate with the objectives of Women in Tech.

For AMP, diversity, equity and inclusion are more than just words, and this is fully expressed in the committed work carried out by WIRAM to elevate and highlight the role of women in the industry, and to inspire future generations to join asset management and thus close the gender gap. International Women's Day, designated by the United Nations (UN) in 1975, is celebrated on March 8th. It highlights the importance of equality, justice, peace, and development. While inclusion and diversity are crucial for our industry, as flexible and diverse organizations achieve better results, this day also serves as a reminder that millions of women globally still lack access to basic rights like education and financial freedom.

March is also a month that encourages us to think about a more sustainable future, an idea that is fully in line with the natural objectives of asset management and the values of the Association of Asset Management Professionals (AMP). March 5th is the International Energy Efficiency Day, a date that encourages us to reduce energy consumption in order to minimize pollution and waste, mitigate the effects of climate change, reduce our carbon footprint and create a more efficient and healthy future for all.

As we have said before, asset management represents the constant fight against entropy, and its application involves the creation of islands of negative entropy to ensure that systems (industrial, mechanical, online manufacturing, mining or facility management) achieve maximum operability and deliver their full value with processes that are safe for people, the environment and the equipment itself. In this month, when special dates resonate with the values that characterize us, we would like to invite you to learn about everything the Association of Asset Management Professionals (AMP) has to offer.
