Why do you want to tick the breakdown field? Do you use the breakdown analysis in the PMIS?

Define what is breakdown which varies from company to company. Some people call this functional failure, total or partial. It would be good if you could do this to enable the breakdown analysis in the SAP PMIS. Do you use satndard analyses in PMIS?

Josh, I do not use PMIS, I use from ABAP report created by IT department because standard report not fullfill analysis. I 've many ABAP report for analysis (Cost, Manhour, Failure and Reliability)

There are standard analyses like object statistics, breakdown analysis, cost analyis in PMIS. If users need user-defined analyses, then either you can set up in PMIS or ABAP report as you said. Are you using SAP PM R3?

Total, for me if the pump is still pumping it has not breakdown yet (failing yes, breakdown, no).

Is PMIS a transaction code in SAP R/3? Let me check with my planners, maybe some of the reports they submit are being done using PMIS.

PMIS stands for Plant Maintenance Information System. It contains satndard analyses and user-defined analyses. It's the last part of the SAP PM. Thus, it has many transaction codes.

Ok, I checked it out, transactions MCI1, MCI2, ...MCIS, ...

No we do not use that much. Instead, we created several reports with variants in IW39 and other transations, plus have our IS department programmed additional custom reports in ABAP.

Why your IT prefer to use ABAB reports to standard & user-defined analyses in PMIS?

Normally, IT Department don't understand what are maintenance need. ABAP report created by IT person but depend on maintenance request
