  • 1.  Query: Dynamic balancing of a flexed axis?

    Posted 06-24-2024 12:35

Good morning, I would appreciate your support on whether you can dynamically balance a shaft that is flexed 1.50 mm at the end of the shaft?

The global vibration in the bearing (fixed side) is 3.50 mm/s and in the bearing (free side) where the shaft is flexed the global vibration is 8 mm/s.

    Greetings and success.

No you can not balance a shaft/fan/pump with 1.5 mm or 0.0590" of shaft runout. IF the run out is beyond the bearing support AND nothing touches the shaft, THEN you MIGHT be able to reduce vibration. The faster the shaft turns, the more vibration you will experience.
