Asset Management

Hi All, I am in need of a good (possibly the best) Asset tracking and inventory management tool for my assets (physical assets-pumps/instrumentation/compressors etc). anyone has one or can point me to the best team to consult?

  I would cast your net wide and consider several of the available tools out there. You need to sort out what is "best" for you consistent with your organizations objectives and the ability of the tool to move you in that direction. There are so many, some stand alone, some included as part of larger ERP suites that are usually implemented at the Corporate level. 

  If I were going to point to one CMMS candidate for you, I would probably pick Maximo as it is widely used and supported in industry and also has a lot of independent support via conferences and independent experts. Find out of your organization is using SAP or Oracle as an ERP system. They both have native CMMS applications called Plant Maintenance and EAM respectively. If you have it installed already it may be a simple case of activation and configuration.

Hi , Maximo has the capabilities what you are looking for. If you want you can check IBM preview site and play around with that and it will give you a good idea about how they handle inventory, manage asset lifecycles and you will also get a glimpse of all the key modules.
