AMP launches the Brazil AMP Chapter and discusses the state of asset management in Brazil

This new chapter demonstrates AMP’s commitment to continuing to disseminate knowledge and trends in asset management throughout the LATAM region, as well as the enthusiasm of industry professionals to participate in opportunities to share experiences and connect with other professionals and our organization.

The creation of the Brazil  AMP  Chapter has been warmly received; its official launch webinar took place on November 3 of this year at 5 p.m. Brazil time (3 p.m. ET). Terrence O’Hanlon, Executive Director of the Association of Asset Management Professionals (AMP), welcomed the new chapter, accompanied by Maura Abad, Global Director of AMP Chapters. This new chapter demonstrates AMP’s commitment to continuing to disseminate knowledge and trends in asset management in Latin America, as well as the receptiveness shown by professionals in the region.

The Brazil Chapter is comprised of Antônio Carlos Werneck, LATAM Operations Leader for JAS Worldwide, as Chapter Co-leader; Marcelo Matias de Araujo, ME Maintenance Lead for General Motors of Brazil, as Chapter Co-leader; Janse Romero, Co-Founder of MaxMatters, who serves as PR/Marketing Lead; and Marcello Pereira, Co-Founder and Executive Director of MaxMatters, as PR/Marketing Lead.

“I am excited and grateful for all the work that has gone into launching this AMP Chapter in Brazil. There are five countries at the forefront of innovation and with a deep interest in asset management and industrial advancements: Australia, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Brazil, as well as the U.S. and Canada, all true leaders in maintenance, reliability approaches, and asset management. And we have much to learn from Brazil’s reliability community, so I couldn’t be more excited about this. Part of our work is made possible by the efforts of volunteers in each chapter. We all welcome everyone to support and celebrate this very important chapter in the history of the Association of Asset Management Professionals. Thank you very much, and welcome,” said Terrence at the start of the session.

Maura Abad continued to host the webinar in the chapter’s language, Portuguese, thanking everyone for their participation and highlighting the value of this new chapter. “In addition to AMP Brazil, we have also founded the WIRAM Brazil Chapter, the Women in Reliability and Asset Management (WIRAM) chapter in that country, creating more opportunities for communication and professional development for women in our industry worldwide,” Maura noted before the webinar began.
