Dutch Chapter Kickoff meeting: Overview of the state of asset management in the Netherlands

The webinar announcing the launch of the Dutch AMP Chapter took place on October 26, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. CEST / 10:00 a.m. ET.During the event, the chapter’s leaders provided an overview of the activities they plan to carry out in 2026 and 2027, in an engaging exchange of information attended by Terrence O’Hanlon, Executive Director of the Association of Asset Management Professionals (AMP), and Maura Abad, WIRAM Founder and Director.

“The Dutch have always been at the forefront of asset management; they translated the first PAS 55 standards, adopted them immediately, and implemented them in their domestic companies before anyone had really begun to think about asset management”, with this statement, Terrence O’Hanlon, Executive Director of the Association of Asset Management Professionals (AMP), opened the Dutch Chapter Kickoff meeting, a webinar specially created to mark the start of this chapter’s activities. Terrence was joined by Maura Abad, WIRAM Founder and Director, who welcomed Remco Jonker, Ronald Teijken, and Paul Franck, executives of the Netherlands Chapter. The event took place last Monday, October 26, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. CEST / 10:00 a.m. ET.

Remco Jonker is a Chapter Co-leader and a partner at Mainnovation. He served in the Navy for 10 years and is the co-author of several books on maintenance. Paul Franck is also a Chapter Co-leader and serves as Lead AM&I (Asset Management & Improvement) at MSD Animal Health; he is responsible for the global rollout of a new CMMS system and is deeply involved in maintenance, reliability, and asset management. Ronald Teijken will serve as the chapter’s Marketing/PR representative and works as a Brand Partner Specialist in Automation for SME Asset Management at IBM Technology. He began his career in supply chain management and then moved into maintenance about 15 years ago, focusing on business development and account management for asset management clients in the Netherlands. He also serves as the liaison for the Dutch-speaking Maximo user group.

One of the central objectives of this newly created chapter is to improve knowledge and collaboration in the field of asset management for the Netherlands region, visit various industries, engage more colleagues, and continue to foster the exchange of information and technological and methodological updates that characterize our industry.

“We are very interested in understanding how asset management, reliability, engineering, and maintenance are carried out across various industries; analyzing the professionalization of this field through the training and certification programs offered by the Association of Asset Management Professionals, such as the Certified Reliability Leader® and the Certified Maintenance Manager®; and organizing webinars and conferences to increase the dissemination of knowledge and information about asset management. Our goal will be to attract more people to the chapter to ensure we understand what we can do in the Netherlands, how we can learn from one another, and how we can make progress in this area,” -commented the chapter’s leaders.
