So I have kind of had a fit trying to find a good software.... I use national instruments Cdaq hardware (which is very modular.... which is great).... and a software that was written by a consulting engineering firm.... they wrote and abandoned it.... and we have 6 licenses and are kind of stuck.
I bought a Zonicbook and the laptop that comes with it has Ez Thomas/Balance/Analyst.... I am excited to learn this and use it but if that laptop every crashes I am kind of up a creek.
National Instruments software looks awful....
I have seen some really good softwares out there that won't allow the use of my hardware.... I think its Alta that has a really good looking package but again you need their hardware.
What I have is great for Modal and ODS.... but general analysis it lacks a bunch and the software is plagued with bugs. If I had to do it over again I would have chosen a whole other setup.
Have you seen any good softwares that play nice with National Instruments equipment? I know Emerson just consumed NI.... am hoping they come up with something.... but Emerson is such an expensive company I don't know what to expect.

Such is the nature of the market, the bigger players are absorbing the smaller ones and killing the products. Sort of like airlines. Let me know if you need some recommendations for hardware/software, I did a survey a little over a year ago for a customer who was looking to update their equipment.

That was such a great software.... I hate that they might have discontinued it. A lot of our nuclear customers are having to buy all new hardware, etc. Such a shame.

IOTech was sold to National Instruments 4 or 5 years ago. I doubt if there is any way to get installation files from them, but you could ask. You might also inquire if their software can work with the Zonicbook hardware. The NI software is really terrible, but for a backup, it may be worth looking into.
