Mastery Belt

The CRL Black Belt Pathway

The highest distinction awarded by the Association of Asset Management Professionals (AMP) is the CRL Black Belt. Candidates for the CRL Black Belt must submit a minimum of five approved CRL Mastery Belt project applications, and these projects must be carried out in each of the Knowledge Domains of the Uptime® Elements Framework. For each approved project, a belt will be awarded according to the Domain:

  • REM - Reliability Engineering for Maintenance

  • ACM Green Belt – Asset Condition Management

  • WEM Blue Belt – Work Execution Management

  • LER Red Belt – Leadership for Reliability

  • AM - Asset Management

Once the five (5) belts have been obtained, the Association of Asset Management Professionals awards the CRL Black Belt in a special scheduled ceremony.

Leadership for Reliability

Certified Reliability Leader Black Belts have a profound impact on the organizations to which they belong, and a small number of them can radically change both the culture and the business results. This is because to receive a Black Belt you need to pass, understand and apply all the domains of the Uptime® Elements framework, and this requires teamwork, executive sponsorship, consistent KPIs and many other aspects.
Upon attaining a CRL Black Belt certification, individuals will become highly valued professionals, empowered to consistently deliver high-impact results that drive value for their organization, contribute to environmental sustainability, and positively influence their community. Moreover, they will be equipped to foster collaborative work environments and implement effective Asset Management strategies, ultimately enhancing overall performance and productivity. There is NO limit on the number of Uptime Element knowledge domain belts earned by an individual or organization.
