Mary Sam, Director of Women in Reliability and Asset Management (WIRAM) Canada Chapter, received the Lifetime Achievement Award

This award, presented by the Association of Asset Management Professionals (AMP) and Women in Reliability and Asset Management (WIRAM), recognizes Mary Sam's committed efforts to highlight women's leadership in industry and society, while supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion in various fields of social and business development.

On January 27, 2026, the Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Mary Sam, director of WIRAM Canada since 2023, for her leadership and guidance at the helm of this chapter. The virtual ceremony brought together the Women in Reliability and Asset Management (WIRAM) community from around the world.

Women in Reliability and Asset Management (WIRAM) honored Mary Sam for her outstanding career and commitment to our organization, but also for being an example to other women and young girls who seek to excel professionally and achieve a place in asset management. Mary is a motivational figure, a role model, and proof of how successful women can be in the industry. “We are very pleased to present Mary Sam with this award. It is a way of recognizing her work, her contribution to Women in Reliability and Asset Management, and especially the inspirational power that this represents. We hope to continue advancing our goals and to have women as committed and brilliant as Mary with us” – said Maura Abad, Founder and Director of WIRAM/ AMP Global Chapters, during the event.

Who is Mary Sam?

Mary Sam is VP of Strategic Portfolio Management at JLL Canada, where she has had a brilliant career. Mary oversees the Canada Post Corporation (CPC) Account and leads Capital Planning, Asset Management Plans, and Strategy solutions. Mary Sam is also a passionate advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion, which has led her to do wonderful work as an ally of several JLL networks, including WBN (Women’s Business Network), APBN (Asian Pacific Business Network), and Take Toronto initiatives across accounts.

WIRAM: more opportunities for women’s professional development in the industry

Women in Reliability and Asset Management (WIRAM) aims to elevate and highlight the role and contributions of women in the asset management industry by supporting more inclusive workplaces where women leaders can continue to grow and contribute solutions to create a stronger, more profitable, and sustainable industry.

This organization was founded and is currently led by Maura Abad, and operates under the umbrella of the Association of Asset Management Professionals (AMP), is divided into chapters around the world, coordinating activities, meetings, webinars, and conferences to share knowledge and experiences and create safe spaces for professional development. Mary Sam has been at the helm of the WIRAM Canada chapter in recent years, carrying out committed work on behalf of women in our industry, which has made her deserve this recognition.
