We have a new chapter! The WIRAM Brazil Chapter is joining Women in Reliability and Asset Management (WIRAM) to expand our organization’s reach, now present in this giant of Southern Latin America.
This new chapter is led by Daniela C. Pedroza as Chapter Leader, Johanna Homann as Chapter Co-Leader, and Michelle Melo Franco as Chapter Marketing Lead. These three brilliant and dedicated women are now taking on the task of creating more opportunities for inclusion, exchange, and development for professional women in asset management in Brazil.
Daniel Pedroza is CEO of DP Consulting and an ESG advisor. She has a strong track record in strengthening women’s leadership and has worked to create policies and systems focused on sustainability within the asset management community. Johanna Homann is a clinical psychologist specializing in organizational psychology and the author of four books; she applies her knowledge and experience to promote dialogue and the development of women’s leadership in various fields. Michelle Melo Franco, for her part, has extensive experience in business development, technology, and digital transformation in areas related to engineering and construction.
Brazil is the largest and strongest economy in Latin America. The industrial sector accounts for 24.7% of its total Gross Domestic Product (GDP), making it the second-strongest industry on the American continent (behind only the United States), with significant activity in manufacturing, oil and gas extraction, mining, transportation, and public services.
However, women account for only approximately 14.3% of professionals specializing in the maintenance of machinery and industrial equipment, reliability, and asset management in that country. This is why this new chapter of WIRAM Brazil is so important, it allows us to continue building bridges of communication and exchange among women in the industry, to encourage their participation, and to help them find a professional and life path in engineering and asset management. “We are very excited about this new chapter, represented by brilliant women with impressive professional backgrounds. Women in Reliability and Asset Management (WIRAM) is an organization operating under the umbrella of the Association of Asset Management Professionals (AMP), whose mission is to elevate and highlight the role and contributions of professional women in the fields of asset management, industrial maintenance, and reliability. To achieve this, it carries out an annual program of webinars, talks, and summits, both virtual and in-person, through its many chapters located in various countries and regions around the world.
